Mowzie got up to alot of mischief this week! But not anymore than usual might I add.
After being chased and beaten up many times by the new kitten on the block (adding up to 269,3841 cats in our one close, each house has one or more cats!) he retrieted back inside to a cosy lap, 3 days running.
I work mainly in the back room of our house and it's the one room which entices most of the sunlight. As he knows!
The table I work on sits almost level with the window overlooking our back garden full of birds.
He might be 15 nearly but he's still able to jump up onto the table (which is a good 3 and a half feet from the ground) and walk all over my work.
On the friday of last week, as I sat outside working and the sun shining through the window, mowzie clambered down from upstairs to find out where I was and why he wasn't being fed. Once he found me, he decided to jump up and rub his face into mine as per usual. It wasn't long before he noticed the sun, the warmth of the sun, and the convenience of the table height to the window! But that wasn't good enough for him. This window doesn't have a window sill, it has a tiny tiny skirting that doesn't come out more than half an inch. He thought he could get closer to the sun by standing on this almost invisible ledge, he was wrong.
After slipping off numerous times, mum and I had an idea. A few years back we bought him a radiator bed (it hooks onto the radiator and keeps him warm in the winter), we decided to put the bed up on the window by latching it onto the open skirting. He struggled up into the bed and after sitting for a while and staring at me like I could do better, he turned to the window and started to paw down the back of the bed to let more sunlight in! It was really the funniest most intelligant thing you've ever seen! Unfortunatly I wasn't able to take a photo of this due to the loss of my camera charger, which is now found... typical. But next time the sun's out I'll try the bed method again! He didn't succeed by the way, and after 5 minutes he got bored... and scooted off back upstairs under the radiator.
Yesterday evening was a relaxing one, for mowzie more so than us! I tried my hand at mum's new camera. I thought it'd be the perfect opportunity as he was curled up on her lap wrapped in the blanket. He's so docile and chilled!
Though I reckon if he could speak he'd be saying, in a really posh voice 'What're you doing? Can't you see i'm trying to sleep here old chap? Get that contraption out of my face.. after you've captured my good side though whatwhat'.
This is pretty much what he's been getting up to the past few months due to the cold weather, he will NOT venture outside much when it's chilly. But when it heats up, he'll be straight outside again chasing the leaves and eating the grass!
Mowzie says he'll see you next monday :) time for his 8:30 nap!
